For A-Level, Howard High achieved a pass rate of 81%, placing it among the top 40 schools in Zimbabwe. In the O-Level results for the same year, Howard High School attained an impressive pass rate of 84.4%, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high academic standards across different levels of education.

Looking back to previous years, Howard High School has consistently performed well, especially at the O-Level. In 2020, the school had an O-Level pass rate of 83.15%, which positioned it as one of the top-performing schools in Zimbabwe during that period.

Affiliation: The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is a global Protestant Christian church and charity, founded in London, known for helping the poor, destitute, and hungry by meeting both physical and spiritual needs through services like shelters, food banks, disaster relief, and community programs, operating in over 130 countries, including significant work in Zimbabwe and Botswana. They provide education, healthcare, support for addiction, all motivated by faith to care for people and create pathways to faith.

The school is situated on a rural campus and has recently undergone significant upgrades to modernise its facilities:

  • Housing: New hostels for boys and girls have been constructed to accommodate its approximately 900 students.
  • Academic Performance: The school maintains a stable and competitive pass rate, reportedly reaching over 95% at the Ordinary Level in recent years.
  • Extracurriculars: Students are required to join at least one club. Options include the Brass BandChoirDebateDriving School, and Junior Achievers Zimbabwe.
  • House System: Students are divided into four houses: FalconOspreyHarrier, and Hawk.
